Min Heejin leaves HYBE, what’s happening with New Jeans?
In the end, Min Heejin will leave HYBE. Min Hee-jin, former CEO of ADOR, stepped down from her position as an in-house director on the 20th amid the HYBE dispute that has continued since April. Along with Min Heejin, who decided to leave HYBE, attention is also focusing on the future course of ADOR’s group New Jeans.
Min Heejin, former CEO of ADOR, said in an official statement on the 20th, “I am resigning from the inside director of ADOR today. I will terminate the inter-shareholder contract signed with HYBE and hold HYBE legally responsible for violations of the inter-shareholder contract.”
Former representative Min Heejin said, “The most angry parts of HYBE were ‘attitude without reflection’ and ‘spreading false facts’.”
She said, “They put a strange frame on me as a minority shareholder and CEO of ‘stealing management control’ and did a witch hunt. I didn’t even want them to repent, but it was an innocent mistake to believe that they would have a minimum conscience as a human being.”
Earlier, the Board of Directors dismissed Min Heejin from her position as CEO and appointed Kim Joo-young as the new CEO. In response, former CEO Min Heejin pointed out, “Even though they (HYBE) unilaterally dismissed them, those who spread false information that they decided to take over production as CEO are unconscionable people who force others to keep secrets.”

Former CEO Min Heejin said with strength, “I have devoted everything mentally, economically, and physically to revive ADOR, who has been broken by HYBE’s serious violation of shareholder contracts over the past seven months.” She also thanked countless people, including the NewJeans fandom Bunnies, for their tireless support for nearly half a year.
Former CEO Min Heejin stressed that although she is leaving HYBE, she will continue legal disputes based on violations of the contract between shareholders. She also added words of anticipation for the new K-pop journey she will show.
The conflict between HYBE and former CEO Min Hee-jin goes back to April. This is because HYBE raised suspicions that former CEO of ADOR, Min Heejin had contacted investors and others several times to escape HYBE. Former CEO Min denied this head-on.
The court cited Min Heejin’s request for provisional injunction, which she filed to block HYBE from exercising its voting rights at an extraordinary shareholders’ meeting. In October, Min Heejin filed a request for provisional injunction against HYBE, asking to be reappointed as CEO of ADOR, but the court rejected the request. Min’s return to the post was ultimately thwarted.
After that, NewJeans, a group that was made under ADOR, asked ADOR on the 13th for Min Heejin back as CEO of ADOR , or it would terminate the exclusive contract if it did not accept the corrections. Through this, the members also demanded that all serious violations of the exclusive contract be corrected within 14 days. However, as Min Heejin resigned from ADOR on the 20th, it is more likely that New Jeans will also have a dispute over the termination of the exclusive contract.
