MIRAE DISBAND, Son Dongpyo stays the agency
The group “MIRAE” will disband three years after its debut.
The agency DSP Media said on the 9th, “MIRAE members Lee Jun Hyuk, Lien, Yoo Dohyun, Kael, Son Dongpyo, Park Si-young, and Jang Yubin have decided to end their group activities after a long period of thought and discussion.”
The members left a handwritten letter on their official social media and said goodbye to their fans. Leader Lee Junhyuk wrote, “I learned a lot during my activities as a future boy, thanks to NOW (MIRAE fandom name), and thank you for creating unforgettable moments together.”
Son Dongpyo will remain on DSP Media to continue his personal activities. “Honestly, there were many moments when I collapsed on my own, and many moments when I was in jeopardy. Even in those moments, we were always together and learned to stand up again by walking in line with the NOW,” Son Dongpyo said. “Now, please watch our group members who will have individual dreams and run harder to achieve dreams.”
MIRAE debuted with the EP KILLA in March 2021. It has drawn attention as the next group of famous idol groups DSP Media, which has produced Sechs Kies, Finckle, Clickbee, SS501, Kara, and April. It was the first group to launch it in four years after the hybrid group card. Members from auditions including Son Dong-pyo, Lee Junhyuk from Mnet’s Produce X 101 and Kael and Park Si-young from MBC TV’s Under Nineteen.
Their last domestic activity was their fifth mini album “Boys will be Boys,” released in July last year.
