NCT Doyoung Donates 100 Million KRW to Support Youth and Children, Fulfills 1st Place Pledge
Doyoung honors music show pledge with meaningful donation
NCT’s Doyoung has followed through on his promise to donate if he won first place on music shows, contributing 100 million KRW (approximately 72,000 USD) to support self-reliant youth and children in need.
On July 11, donation platform Gojang Donation revealed, “NCT’s Doyoung has donated 100 million KRW to assist young adults preparing for independence and children under protective care.”
Last month, during interviews for his second solo album Soar, Doyoung pledged to make a donation if he earned a music show win. He went on to achieve three first-place trophies with his title track “Memory (안녕, 우주)” and fulfilled his promise.
Doyoung stated, “Thanks to Czennies’ love, I received the meaningful gift of a No. 1 win and was able to follow through on my pledge. I hope this donation provides even a small amount of support to children, teenagers, and young adults who are preparing for a new start. Just like the message of my album, I hope they find their own ‘power to dream’ and pursue it freely.”
A history of meaningful contributions
Doyoung has consistently used his platform for good. In February, he donated 30 million KRW to support undernourished children, and in May, he gave 50 million KRW to aid wildfire recovery efforts in the Yeongnam region. He has also contributed to support for low-income women and youth, as well as recovery from the Türkiye-Syria earthquake.
