NCT WISH Riku Returns with 2nd Mini Album ‘poppop’ After Hiatus
NCT WISH (Sion, Riku, Yushi, Jaehee, Ryo, Sakuya) recently held an interview in Yongsan, Seoul, to celebrate the release of their second mini album poppop, which drops on April 14. This comeback is particularly significant as it marks Riku’s return to activities after taking a hiatus due to health concerns.
Riku’s Return and Reflections
Riku, who took a hiatus from group activities last October following medical advice, shared his thoughts on returning:
“During my break, I realized how much each member has grown as artists—whether it’s their stage presence, performance skills, or attitude toward performances. Hearing poppop for the first time made my heart race. The lyrics about love were so moving, and I’m thrilled to connect with fans through this song.”
He added:
“Seeing how much effort everyone has put into this comeback motivates me even more. I’m excited to be back and share this journey with our fans.”
About ‘poppop’
poppop is NCT WISH’s first release in seven months since their debut mini album Steady. The album explores the vibrant emotions of first love—its freshness, excitement, and awkwardness—through six tracks:

Members’ Excitement for the Comeback
The members expressed their anticipation for the new album:
“We were very active in 2024 and learned so much from those experiences. We talked a lot about how we could do even better this year. That hope and excitement led us to release our first mini album of 2025,” they said.
Yushi added:
“Last year’s experiences have laid the groundwork for us to show even better performances this year. I’m really looking forward to connecting with fans and sharing our music.”
Upcoming Fan Event and Asia Tour
To celebrate the release of poppop, NCT WISH will host a special event titled poppop in the Bubble on April 15 at Songdo Moonlight Festival Park Auxiliary Stadium in Incheon.
Additionally, they are continuing their 2024-2025 NCT WISH ASIA TOUR LOG in, performing across 14 cities in Asia with 25 shows scheduled through June. Upcoming stops include Manila, Hong Kong, Singapore, Taipei, Jakarta, and Bangkok.
