Hello, I’m a hearing impaired NCTzen (now ‘deaf’) who loves and supports NCT.
I’m posting now after seeing tweets about Jaehyun’s birthday party sign language interpretation.
I started to like NCT thanks to Mark and Jaehyun from SM Rookies. NCT was the support of me when I was tired of work and daily life.
Whenever I bought tickets for concerts or fan meetings, I am a fan of NCT and requested several times to support sign language interpretation from SM agency and ticket vendors (Yes24, Interpark). However, I received a reply from the vendor that sign language interpretation is not supported. The agency also said, “No sign language interpretation support,” and “If you want to come, we will reserve a seat in a wheelchair, so bring an interpreter yourself.”
I had no choice but to spend my own money to recruit an interpreter and see it.

At first, when I told deaf can not get a support interpretation, I thought about giving up watching the concert, but I couldn’t give up because I wanted to see NCT. I went to performances without sign language interpretation. I was so curious and jealous of what NCT talked about and what they communicated with NCTzens.
I asked for sign language interpretation again, and I received only the answer that sign language interpreters could not support me despite several requests and fights.
- As a pre-booker or common booker, one ticket per person is recognized, so I and a sign language interpreter have to buy tickets separately. Even if you succeed in booking through the countless competitors, the possibility to have your interpreter to sit next to you is very low. Even if I succeed in ticketing alone, it is also a battle to ask for a sign language interpreter from the ticketing vendor and agency.
- Sign language is the visual language for deaf people. Interpretation is essential in a position facing each other rather than next to each other, and a wider space must be secured to reduce the inconvenience of each other.
Whenever I buy tickets for concerts or fan meetings, I hold on to sales or agencies to request interpretation support and spend a day or two fighting.

There may be deaf NCTzens who like NCT like me, and I wonder if other fans who like other singers are in the same situation as me.
I hope it will be publicized why I am continuing to fight against ticket vendors and agencies.
I hope that deafs who like singers like me will be able to enjoy cultural entertainment where they can see and enjoy their favorite singers by being supported by sign language interpretation at concerts and fan signings.
I will continue to fight until the concert, fan signing event, music broadcast, birthday party ticket sales, agency, and broadcaster support sign language interpretation.
