New Jeans 5 Consecutive Million Selling Albums
Group New Jeans has succeeded in achieving five consecutive million sellers.
According to the agency Ador on the 11th, sales of New Jeans’ Japanese debut single “Supernatural,” released on the 21st of last month, totaled 1,021,730 copies (total of general and Weverse) based on the June album chart of the circle chart.
This has put all five albums that New Jeans has released so far since its debut in July 2022 on the million seller list.
New Jeans’ first EP “New Jeans” and single album “OMG” have sold more than 1.6 million copies and 1.66 million copies, respectively. The second EP “Get Up” is New Jeans’ first double million-selling album, which sold more than 2.14 million copies. On top of that, the double single “How Sweet,” released in May, sold more than 1.12 million copies, bringing the total sales of five albums to about 7.55 million.
It is also strong not only in albums but also in music. “Supernatural” and its title track “Supernatural” have been on top of Bugs’ daily chart for nine days (July 2-10), a major Korean music site, and have climbed to the top 5 on Melon’s Top 100. The track “Right Now” is also cruising in Korea’s major music charts.
Global charts have also continued to show good performance. “Supernatural” ranked 22nd on the latest Billboard chart (excluding the U.S.) and 34th on the “Global 200” chart for two consecutive weeks. “Right Now” ranked 120th on the “Global (excluding the U.S.” Both songs are also popular in major Japanese music charts such as Spotify and Apple Music Japan.
