NewJeans at BBMAs
NewJeans will perform at Billboard Music Awards (BBMAs), which would be the first ever for K-POP girl group. BBMAs announced that the group was chosen to perform on the stage of this year’s ceremony. Billboard Music Awards are one of the largest awards, with Grammy Awards and American Music Awards.
Until now, BTS was only K-POP artists who performed at the BBMAs. ADOR said, New Jeans was chosen to the show for the first time as a K-pop girl group. Not just that it was chosen in the shortest period of time after debut among all K-pop groups. At the upcoming ceremony, the group earned a chance to perform two stages. The group will perform ‘Super Shy‘ and ‘OMG‘, both of which have charted on the Billboard Hot 100, according to the agency, ADOR.
NewJeans nominated for
New Jeans is nominated to Top Billboard Global Artist (excluding United States), Top Global K-Pop Artist, Top K-Pop Album for ‘Get Up‘, as well as Top Global K-Pop Song for ‘Ditto‘ and ‘OMG‘. (Get Up is the second EP, which includes ‘Super Shy‘ and ‘ETA‘) This year’s BBMAs ceremony will be on livestream and held virtually on Billboard’s official social media channels on November 19 (local time).
The Records that they achieved,Spotify
NewJeans being invited to BBMAs is not so weird. As the group is making a legendary records on Spotify. 10 billion streaming (March 7) ,20 billion streaming (July 30),30 billion streaming ( November 7)! New Jeans has been breaking the streaming record of Spotify, the world’s largest sound platform, at high speed for a year and three months since its debut.
New Jeans, which first exceeded 1 billion cumulative streaming sessions in March, was listed on the Guinness World Record in the U.K. with the shortest period of time (219 days) for K-pop artists. So it is not so strange for the group to be invited to the BBMAs.
