New Jeans Bunnies Camp Terror Threat?
Group New Jeans is suffering from threats of stabbing ahead of the Tokyo Dome fan concert. In response, the agency said it is actively cooperating with domestic police investigations while preparing safety measures.
On the 25th, a HYBE official told TenAsia, the news outlet, that “We are currently preparing for enhanced safety preparedness with a Japanese performance agency,” adding, “At the same time, the police are investigating in Korea, and we are actively cooperating with the investigation.” He stressed that “We are making every effort to ensure that artists can engage in safe activities.”
Currently, New Jeans is staying in Japan to promote their debut in Japan. From the 26th to the 27th, they will hold the Bunnies Camp 2024 Tokyo Dome. The fan meeting will begin with producer 250’s opening DJ stage, and New Jeans will hold a parade of more than 20 songs for about 150 minutes.
Four new songs from the double single “How Sweet” and the Japanese debut single “Supernatural”, 12 songs that were previously released and gained worldwide popularity, and a special solo performance by the members were prepared.YoASOBI and singer-songwriter Rina Sawayama are also expected to appear as special guests to make the performance more colorful.
Earlier, on the 24th, an online community posted an article titled “I bought it to use at the New Jeans concert.” The writer of the post posted a picture of the knife and wrote, “When New Jeans get off from the New Jeans van, I will stab them one by one.”
Fans who encountered this shared the post and asked them to “report it together,” and one fan actually received it at the National Complaints site and it was registered. As the police report was received, the Korean police are investigating the case, and HYBE will also actively cooperate.
Currently, the post has been deleted, but it has spread to various communities and social media. In addition, experts believe that the knife photo attached to the post is a copy of the online shopping mall sales photo, and that the threatening post itself is highly likely to be a joke.
However, since it could be true threats, HYBE said it has prepared strengthened safety countermeasures in consultation with local performance agencies to protect the members who are currently staying in Japan.
It seems that the author of the post who made the threat of stabbing cannot avoid punishment. Even if there is no intention of actually causing harm, the person who posted the above post can be punished if the identity is specified because the crime of intimidation is established if the target is specified.
