What New Jeans fans demand
“Guarantee the term of former chairman Min Heejin.”
Fans of the group New Jeans sent an open letter to HYBE and Ador executives asking them to guarantee former CEO Min Heejin’s term until November 2026 under an inter-shareholder contract.
On the 4th, 1445 New Jeans fans sent letters to Ador CEO Kim Joo Young, Ador’s internal directors Lee Kyung Joon and Lee Dokyung, Ador’s director Kim Hakja, and HYBE Lee Jae-sang (CEO).
Fans said, “I think New Jeans’ achievements in a short period of time were achieved through close synergy between management and production, and we actually proved them with results. We are concerned about the change and damage to the workforce and system of Newgins, which is focused on the growth and support of New Jeans, which was built under former CEO Min Hee-jin immediately after the establishment of New Jeans and its debut.”
“It is hard to understand in common sense the decision to exclude former CEO Min Heejin, who has proven her work ability, and to appoint Kim Jooyoung, as a successor to HYBE, who has no experience in the entertainment industry and has not proven her management ability, ahead of the production of her follow-up album in the second half of the year and the planning and preparation of next year’s world tour,” they said.
At the same time, fans demanded that former CEO Min Heejin’s term be guaranteed until November 2026 under the shareholder contract, and legal action against defamation, insults, and personal information leakage against the members of the New Jean’s.
Earlier on the 27th of last month, Ador said, “We held a board meeting and appointed Kim Joo-young, the inside director of Ador as the new CEO.”
“Kim Joo-young, the new CEO, is an HR expert with experience in various industries and will take on the role of stabilizing the organization and internal maintenance of Ador,” Ador said, adding that CEO Min Heejin will take charge of New Jeans’ production work.
Regarding the reason for replacing the CEO, Ador said, “The internal organization of Adore has also decided to separate production and management,” adding, “It was a multi-label operation principle that has been consistently applied to all other labels, but the CEO has been in charge of both production and management except for Ador.”
