Hanni as reference person, HYBE bullied New Jeans?
Hanni, a member of the group New Jeans, has selected as a reference for workplace harassment at a parliamentary audit next month.
The news outlets reported on the 30th that the National Assembly’s Environment and Labor Committee adopted New Jeans Hanni and Kim Joo Young, the chief personnel officer of ADOR, the label taking care of idol group New Jeans, as reference and witnesses, respectively, in a parliamentary audit on the 25th of next month.
As a result, it is expected that the two sides will engage in dispute over workplace harassment. The National Assembly plans to ask Hani about workplace harassment and Kim about poor responses.
Even if it was adopted as a witness and reference to the National Assembly, attention is being paid to whether both sides will attend because they do not have to attend if they submit a reason for not attending with “justifiable reasons.”
Hanni revealed how she was treated in HYBE during the New Jeans emergency live on the 11th. Hanni said, “The 4th floor of the HYBE building is the floor for hair and makeup. It’s a place where other artists and employees come and go,” and added, “One day, I was waiting alone in the hallway, and other team members and their manager passed by. We greeted each other, and after a while, their manager said, ‘You should ignore her’ in front of me. I can hear and see everything.”
New Jeans Hanni then added, “I don’t understand why I should be subjected to such a thing now, and I think it’s ridiculous.” The members said they informed HYBE and ADOR of the fact, but only came back with words they couldn’t tell because there was no evidence.
