NewJeans donates 100 Million Won to Support Youth Caregivers
NewJeans, the popular K-pop girl group, has made headlines with their recent charitable donation of 100 million won to the Green Umbrella Children’s Foundation. This generous act aims to support young caregivers in South Korea, demonstrating the group’s commitment to social causes.
NewJeans’ Donation Impact
The donation will benefit children and youth who care for family members with disabilities, illnesses, or age-related needs. Specifically, the funds will support 30 households of young caregivers nationwide, providing assistance for living expenses, housing, education, and medical care. Additionally, the donation will help with career development and employment opportunities for these young individuals.
Ongoing Philanthropic Efforts
This isn’t the first time NewJeans has engaged in charitable activities. The group previously donated proceeds from their album sales to support children with hearing impairments. Previously ADOR and NewJeans have also announced plans to make annual donations from a portion of their album sale profits, showcasing their long-term commitment to philanthropy.

NewJeans’ Statement
The NewJeans members expressed their motivation behind the donation: “We decided to make this donation to provide essential support for the healthy growth of children and youth in family care, as well as to help them become independent. We will continue to show interest in helping children find and achieve their dreams.”
This act of generosity showcases NewJeans’ dedication to using their platform for positive change, and one more thing was noticeable. The group tried not to use their name NewJeans, but used Bunnies, their fandom name as donator. Some are suspecting that the group will not use their official name until NewJeans new name will be officialize.
