NewJeans in Emergency Press Conference, Announces Contract Termination with HYBE and ADOR
K-pop sensation NewJeans held an emergency press conference on November 28th, declaring their intention to terminate exclusive contracts with HYBE and ADOR. The event, featuring all five members – Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, and Hyein – took place at 8:30 p.m. at the Galaxy Hall of SpaceShare Samsung Station Center in Samseong-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul.
Contract Termination Details and Scared of HYBE
NewJeans cited a lack of improvement and willingness from their agencies to address concerns as the primary reason for termination. “The deadline for our request for correction ends after 12 p.m. tonight. Today’s business hours are over, but we don’t see any room for improvement or willingness to listen to the demands,” the group stated.
They expressed worry about potential media manipulation by HYBE during their Japan trip, emphasizing their desire to accurately convey their position. The group elaborated on their decision to leave ADOR, stating, “NewJeans is an artist under ADOR, and they have a duty to protect us. ADOR has neither the will nor the ability to protect us.”

Legal Implications and Future Plans
Despite the ongoing legal review process, NewJeans confidently asserted that “the exclusive contract will be terminated after midnight.” They also indicated no intention to file a legal lawsuit against HYBE and ADOR.
The group’s decision follows a proof of content sent to ADOR on November 13th, demanding the return of former CEO Min Hee-jin. The document stipulated contract termination if correction requirements weren’t met within 14 days.
