NEXZ Performs at Budokan for the First Time, Draws 18,000 Fans Over 2 Days

JYP Entertainment boy group NEXZ achieved a major milestone by performing at Japan’s iconic Budokan arena for the first time, attracting a total of 18,000 fans across two sold-out shows.

On July 18 and 19, NEXZ (Tomoya, Yuu, Haru, Seita, Soken, Hui, Yuki) held two solo concerts at Tokyo’s legendary Budokan as part of their first nationwide tour, “NEXZ LIVE TOUR 2025 ‘One Bite.’” Just one year after their official Japanese debut in August 2024, the group’s rapid rise was cemented with a performance at a venue considered a cultural landmark in Japanese music history.

Two-Day Concert Highlights and Setlist

During the 150-minute show, NEXZ delivered a dynamic setlist of 20 songs, blending tracks from their second Japanese EP One Bite (released July 16) with Korean hits, including “Simmer (Japanese Ver.).” The title track “One Bite” left a powerful impression with an intense stage concept featuring shattered LED visuals, giant chains, and a massive lock, symbolizing breaking societal norms to find one’s true self. Fans erupted as the group showcased strong live vocals and synchronized choreography.

A heartfelt talk segment added warmth to the night, with members sharing personal stories that brought smiles across the audience. Day one included a surprise cake to celebrate One Bite topping the Oricon Daily Album Chart, while day two featured a special video recapping NEXZ’s first year since debut. Fans responded with a stunning lightstick flash event, moving members to tears.

Record-Breaking Chart Performance with ‘One Bite’

Alongside their Budokan success, NEXZ continues to dominate music charts. Their second Japanese EP One Bite debuted at No.1 on the Oricon Daily Album Chart (July 15) and also secured the top spot on Billboard Japan’s Top Album Sales chart (sales period: July 14–20). The group’s unstoppable momentum proves their status as one of JYP’s fastest-rising acts.

Closing out the concert, NEXZ members shared their gratitude:

“We could only make it here because all seven of us stood together—and because of NEX2Y (our fans). Performing at Budokan is a dream come true. Today reminded us just how happy and lucky we are,” the group said, tearing up on stage.

After conquering Budokan, NEXZ members will carry their tour energy to Osaka on August 21, continuing their nationwide journey and cementing their place among Japan’s top-performing K-pop acts.
