NJZ Hanni Receives New Visa, but Korean Activities Remain Uncertain? E-6 and more
Hanni, a member of the K-pop group NewJeans, has been issued a new visa, resolving concerns about her immigration status in South Korea. However, some raises concerns on her ability to engage in entertainment activities in the country. Some say it still remains uncertain.
Background on the Visa Issue
Hanni’s parents and other NJZ members’ parents announced on February 12, 2025, that she had obtained a new visa through proper procedures. This development comes after her previous visa expired following NewJeans’ declaration of contract termination with their agency, ADOR, in November 2024.
Concerns Over Visa Type and Activities
The type of visa Hanni received has not been disclosed, leading to speculation that it might not be an E-6 visa, which is typically required for foreign entertainers to work in South Korea. There is a possibility that she was issued a G-1 visa, which allows temporary residence for individuals involved in legal disputes. If so, this would not permit her to engage in entertainment activities.

Legal Disputes and Future Activities
NewJeans has been focusing on international activities under their new name, NJZ, amid ongoing legal disputes with ADOR. The group is scheduled to perform at the ComplexCon music festival in Hong Kong in March, where they will release a new song as NJZ. However, their activities in South Korea remain uncertain due to the unresolved contract issues.
ADOR’s Legal Actions
The agency has filed legal actions to maintain its agency status and confirm the validity of the contracts with NewJeans. The first hearing for these cases is set for March 7 and April 3, respectively.
