OH MY GIRL HYOJUNG and ‘A THOUSAND BLUES’
Oh My Girl Hyo Jung expressed her feelings after the first performance of her debut musical, “A Thousand Blues.”
Hyojung said, “After my first performance, the crew members who have been watching me since the first practice congratulated me sincerely, and I was so happy and grateful. I prepared a lot and worried before I stood on the stage, but I think I felt new excitement and happiness as soon as I went up on stage. I think this experience is even more valuable as my first musical is a creative musical and I am the one who perform the premiere stage of the musical to everyone, and I will do my best for the rest of the performances.”
Through this “A Thousand Blues,” Hyojung received favorable reviews for not only as Oh My Girl’s main vocals’ solid singing skills, but also her performance, including vocalization, acting and delicate facial expressions. In particular, audiences picked Hyojung’s clean and clear tone further increased the synchronicity with the character and completed a successful musical initiation ceremony, and she has received a big round of applause at the curtain call after the performance.
Hyojung’s first musical challenge, “A Thousand Blues,” is based on the novel of the same name by Chun Sun Ran, who won the 4th Korean Science and Literature Award for feature length in 2019. In the novel and musical, which depicts the beautiful and brilliant recovery and reconciliation of animals, robots, humans, and species centered on the robot “Collie” and the racehorse “Today,” Hyojung earned a role of main character, ‘Yeonjae’ who bought humanoid C-27 right before its disposal and names it as ‘Collie’ in the play and finished her first performance on the 12th.
Meanwhile, Oh My Girl Hyojung’s debut musical will be performed at the CJ Tower Theater of the Seoul Arts Center until the 26th.
