CORTIS Debut Release Party Draws Fans from 190 Countries – A Global Celebration of Their First EP
Over 2-Hour Event Features Full Album Performances, Behind-the-Scenes Stories, and First-Ever Stages
CORTIS marked the release of their debut EP with a large-scale event that united fans across the globe. The rookie group (Martin, James, Juhoon, Sunghyun, and Gunho) held the ‘CORTIS The 1st EP [COLOR OUTSIDE THE LINES] RELEASE PARTY’ on September 8 at Hwajeong Gymnasium, Korea University in Seoul. Over the course of two hours, the group performed every track from their debut album live on stage.
The event was streamed through multiple platforms, including Weverse, HYBE Labels’ official YouTube channel, and TikTok. On Weverse alone, fans from more than 190 countries and regions—including Korea, the U.S., Japan, and Indonesia—joined the livestream in real time, underscoring the group’s rapidly expanding global reach.
The show opened with the premiere performance of their follow-up track “FaSHioN,” where the five members immediately captured attention with high-energy choreography and infectious charisma. They followed with “GO!” before greeting the crowd: “This is our first solo show since debut. It’s a special day, and we want to celebrate it like a real party. Let’s enjoy it together.”
Excitement peaked during their performance of the title track “What You Want.” Incorporating 31 treadmills into the stage setup, CORTIS delivered a performance that exceeded the scale of typical broadcast appearances. Moving seamlessly between the main stage and extended platforms, they showcased dynamic, free-flowing choreography, while the crowd responded with deafening cheers and synchronized fan chants.
The group continued to surprise fans with the first-ever live stages of B-side tracks “JoyRide” and “Lullaby,” offering a setlist packed with new content. Their stable vocals and strong live presence earned praise throughout, and spontaneous encores and interactions with fans—spanning both floors of the venue—further demonstrated their genuine connection with the audience.
Between performances, the members shared personal stories about their trainee years and the creative process behind the album. They also unveiled several exclusive video projects, including a self-produced clip for “GO!” that was entirely planned, filmed, and edited by the members themselves, as well as a behind-the-scenes skit for “What You Want” and the official music video for “Lullaby.” These moments highlighted the group’s identity as a “young creator crew” actively involved in all aspects of their artistry.
As the event drew to a close, the members looked out at the crowd and expressed heartfelt gratitude. “We’ve worked so hard to see this incredible view. Being able to stand here is a blessing. Thank you to everyone who’s with us. It’s only been three weeks since our debut—we hope you’ll stay with us for many days to come,” they said through tears.
