Rising Vocalist NCT WISH Jaehee Impresses Across 2 Variety Shows
NCT WISH’s Jaehee captures attention with powerful vocals and emotional delivery on ‘King of Mask Singer’ and ‘LEEMUJIN SERVICE’
Jaehee, a member of the rookie boy group NCT WISH (under SM Entertainment), is emerging as one of the most promising vocal talents among K-pop’s new generation. His recent string of live performances across popular variety shows has left fans and viewers alike praising his vocal range, tone, and stage presence.
Jaehee appeared on MBC’s King of Mask Singer (broadcast on August 31 and September 6), performing under the alias “Blue Sky Galaxy.” He delivered three contrasting songs that showcased his versatility—DAY6’s “Welcome to the Show” with a refreshing tone, Kim Kyungho’s “Forbidden Love” with rock-infused power, and Naul’s “Wind’s Memory” with delicate emotional control. After revealing his identity, the studio erupted in applause, and the panelists offered glowing reviews, calling him “a vocalist to watch,” “an artist with infinite potential,” and “a voice with a bright future.”
Following that, Jaehee joined the YouTube show LEEMUJIN SERVICE (via the KBS Kpop channel), where he continued to demonstrate his skill and charm. His set included a rearranged version of NCT WISH’s latest title track “COLOR,” as well as covers of Bang Gwang-ok’s “Today’s Diary” and Yuuri’s “Dried Flower.” He also teamed up with MC Lee Mujin for a duet of EXO’s “Don’t Go,” earning praise for his soft tone and heartfelt delivery.
Part of a Record-Breaking Rookie Group
Alongside his solo recognition, Jaehee is also riding the momentum of NCT WISH’s recent success. The group made their comeback on September 1 with their third mini album COLOR, which sold over 1.395 million copies in its first week—securing their second consecutive million-seller title. The album topped multiple domestic music and album charts, reached No. 1 on China’s QQ Music Rising Chart, and garnered over 530,000 comments during a fan chat event.
NCT WISH will continue their promotion schedule this week with appearances on Mnet’s M Countdown (Sept 11), KBS2’s Music Bank (Sept 12), MBC’s Show! Music Core (Sept 13), and SBS’s Inkigayo (Sept 14).
