ONEUS mentions others at Road To Kingdom Press Conference
ONEUS expressed its feelings about trying again on “Road to Kingdom.” They are participating in ‘Road to Kingdom season 2.’
On the 19th, a production presentation for Mnet’s “Road to Kingdom Ace of Ace” was held at the Eliena Hotel in Nonhyeon-ro, Gangnam-gu, Seoul. The production presentation, which was held on this day, was attended by CP Choi Hyo-jin and PD Cho Woo-ri, and representatives of the seven teams, The New Six Choi Tae Hoon, The Crew One Lee Geonu, 8turn Jaeyun, ONEUS Hwanwoong, YOUNITE Eunsang, CRAVITY Serim and TEMPEST LEW.
“Road to Kingdom” is a K-pop boy group rising project that re-examines boy groups with skills and potential. Producer Cho Woori, who directed Mnet’s “Queendom,” which aired in 2019, will direct and Taemin will appear as the first solo MC. A total of seven teams will appear, including The New SIX, The Crew One, 8TURN, ONEUS, YOUNITE, CRAVITY, and TEMPEST.
ONEUS was participating in ‘Road to Kingdom season 1’ with talented boy groups such as THE BOYZ, ONF, and Pentagon, which aired in 2020, and will try again after four years. Hwanwoong of ONEUS said, “I was very thirsty for performance. I came here to prove our skills with this program. I am confident in live performance and visuals.”
He also expressed his desire to raise awareness. “We recently went to an amusement park to film content, and people who saw us mentioned TWS and TOMORROW X TOGETHER. I was heartbroken to hear that. I want to promote our team more through this chance,” Hwanwoong said.
Seven teams will show off diverse performances by wearing different weapons including rap, singing and dancing. Notably, the first episode of ‘Road to Kingdom Season 2’ will feature intense rap, pure vocals, and even kiss performance, which is reminiscent of a rap survival.
The newly returned “Road to Kingdom” will be conducted with “Ace Ranking” and “Team Ranking” two tracks. As the subtitle “Ace of Ace” is added, it will take off as a next-generation boy group by revealing not only the team performance that was previously shown, but also the skills, talents, and characters of each member that was not shown in the group activities.
Producer Cho said, “I think it’s different between showing within the team and showing it as an individual player, but there are parts that I couldn’t show because I was stuck in the team. I thought there would be more entrance to love this team.”
