Rose Mentioning New Jeans during her interview with i-D?
Blackpink Rosé was asked about the Min Hee-jin-HYBE incident and New Jeans’ in an interview with foreign media.
On the 18th, i-D, a British fashion magazine, released an interview with Rosé. In the interview, Rosé brought up the process of working on her new album, and her thoughts on criticism from the public.
First, Rosé described the process of working on her new album as a “healing process,” adding, “Working on the album was the only place I could stay sane. I felt like I was in my mother’s arms.”
She then confessed her experience of being overly conscious of the public’s attention, explaining the album’s track “Number One Girl.” Rose confessed, “I couldn’t fall asleep until 5 a.m. because I was agonizing over what people would think of me and what they would say about me. I hated myself so much.”
In addition, Rosé emphasized about the album, “I wanted to show the audience that I’m just the same person as you. I’m just a normal 27-year-old Asian woman.”
When asked about the conflict between HYBE and Min Hee-jin, and New Jeans in the interview, Rosé said, “I want to talk positively.” She then expressed her affection for New Jeans, saying, “I really love those girls,” but avoided directly mentioning the conflict.
