‘Gayo Daejeon Ticket Fraud’ is getting solved?
A man in his 20s, who stole more than 72 million won (approximately 53000 USD) through SBS Gayo Daejeon ticket fraud has been sent to the prosecution. Incheon Jung-bu (Central) Police Station said on the 19th, that it sent a man in his 20s without detention on charges of fraud. According to the police, A is accused of stealing 72 million won. It is known that he was scamming on 230 people. He lied that he would sell tickets of SBS Gayo Daejeon held at Inspire Arena in Unseo-dong, Jung-gu, Incheon on December 25, 2023.
He reached to victims saying he got tickets through ‘X.’ Mr. A was found to have disappeared after receiving money from the victims. As a result of the investigation, it was confirmed that Mr. A received the money from victims by the illegal cryptocurrency exchange account.
The police sent A to the prosecution, believing that the crime was not systematically committed. The police is thinking the fraud is by one man.
How about Money?
However, it seems it would be hard to get money back. Mr. A said he is bankrupted. During his statement of allegations, he said “All the damages were lost after investing in virtual currency.” There should be more investigation on it, but not so clear for the payment. If the criminalized fraudster is confirmed to be punished, the fans might have to take individual actions. Fans might need to file a civil lawsuit. That would be one of the way to get their money back.
In this regard, SBS Gayo Daejeon production team made an announcement. “We asked the police to investigate the damage immediately after hearing about it at the scene on the day of the performance. We are still checking on exact extent of the damage .”
