SEVENTEEN Hoshi X Woozi Release 1st Unit Album “BEAM”
SEVENTEEN’s Hoshi and Woozi, both born in 1996 and longtime friends, have officially debuted as a unit with their first single album BEAM, released today (March 10, 2025) at 6 PM KST. The album, which features all tracks written and produced by the duo, showcases their unique musicality and synergy. Ahead of the release, Hoshi and Woozi shared their thoughts in an interview provided by Pledis Entertainment.

Q. How do you feel about releasing BEAM?
Hoshi: Woozi and I have been inseparable since we were young. We’ve always wanted to do unit activities together, so being able to share BEAM with everyone is exciting. Since this album reflects the music we want to create, we plan to enjoy ourselves on stage during this promotion.
Woozi: I’m thrilled to release a new album with my closest friend in life. We worked on it with a lot of excitement and joy, which I think resulted in an honest album.
Q. What can you tell us about the title track, “동갑내기 (Same Age)”?
Hoshi: When we worked on it, I thought, “This is so us!” Woozi and I often dance around to songs we love, and we created this track with that same passion for music in mind.
Q. How did the collaboration with So!YoON! come about?
Woozi: While working on the first track, “PINOCCHIO (feat. So!YoON!),” we thought it would be great to feature a female vocalist with a unique vibe. We reached out to So!YoON!, who agreed enthusiastically and worked on it quickly. I’m deeply grateful to her for her contribution.
Q. Did you discover anything new about each other during the production of BEAM?
Hoshi: Woozi’s producing skills are already well-known, but he’s not just amazing at making music—he’s also an incredible dancer! He’s truly a “hexagonal idol.” During this promotion, I’ll make sure everyone sees Woozi’s hidden charms. Personally, I want to show a freer side of myself compared to my previous activities with BSS (BooSeokSoon).
Woozi: We’ve known each other for so long that there wasn’t much new to discover during this project. As for myself, I don’t think I have any standout qualities either—I just focused on doing my best as always despite feeling shy and pressured at times.
Q. What part of BEAM are you most proud of?
Hoshi: I’m really happy with how the jacket photos turned out! Big thanks to the staff who made them look amazing. My face deserves some credit too (laughs).
Woozi: I’d say the fact that we worked on it with so much fun and energy is something worth praising. Since it’s an album made with my best friend, I hope only joyful memories remain from this experience.
Q. What positive traits have you learned from each other?
Hoshi: Woozi’s dedication inspires me—once he’s focused on something, he sticks with it no matter what. His wisdom and ability to make rational decisions motivate me to grow as well.
Woozi: To me, Hoshi embodies the word “superstar.” His passion is one of the biggest forces that drives me forward.
Q. Have there been moments from your trainee days until now that made you love or trust yourself more?
Hoshi: CARATs (SEVENTEEN’s fandom) are my biggest source of strength. Seeing how much they believe in me—even more than I believe in myself—has always pushed me forward.
Woozi: When my members rely on me, it makes me realize how much they trust and value me. Those moments feel like beams of light (BEAM) for me personally as well.
Q. How did SEVENTEEN members react to BEAM?
Hoshi: We let them listen to the songs beforehand, and they loved them! They said the music exceeded their expectations and encouraged us by saying things like “Go tear up the stage!”
Q. Any message for CARATs waiting for SEVENTEEN Hoshi X Woozi BEAM?
Hoshi: The light you’ve given us will shine back on you through our music and performances. We hope our work brings even a little happiness into your lives—please support BEAM!
