SF9 first comeback without Rowoon
SF9 will have its comeback with an EP on January 8, 2024 according to its agency, FNC entertainment. The album will be the first album of the group in a year. Their last album was 12th EP, ‘The Piece of 9’, which was released on January 9, 2023. This album might gain more attention from K-pop listeners, as it is first group activity without Rowoon. Rowoon is a former member of SF9, who left the group in September to focus on his career as an actor. The new EP will be drop without a member, Jaeyoon. He is currently serving in the military as it is his mandatory service. The last album, ‘The Piece of 9’ had 7 members including Rowoon. At that point, Youngbin and In Seong were in it its military service. FNC will disclose more details about the following album in future.
SF9 History
SF9 debuted in October 2016 under FNC Entertainment with the single ‘Feeling Sensation’. The group debuted as 9 members, which can be referred from the name of the group. However, Rowoon left the band in September with hand written letter. The band currently consists of eight members: Yoo Tae Yang, Youngbin, Zuho, Hwiyoung, In Seong, Jaeyoon, Dawon and Chani. The members are having their military services in turns. The group has many famous tracks, and it was also known world wide by the participating in Mnet TV program, ‘Kingdom’. The group showed great performances through the show, with an excellent teamwork. Their most famous piece of perfromance from ‘Kingdom’ would be Taemin’s Move.
Fans are excited to see how they would be in their new formation. It is SF9 first comeback after Rowoon leaving. On the other hand, Rowoon, former member of SF9, is the main actor of ‘The Matchmaker’ from KBS2.
