Starship New Boy Group IDID Finalizes Debut Lineup of 8 Members

Starship Entertainment’s fifth-generation group IDID has officially confirmed its debut members.

8 Final Members Revealed on ‘Debut’s Plan’ Finale

On May 4, the final episode of Starship’s global survival show Debut’s Plan aired live via the [New Kids on the Starship] YouTube channel. After eight months of intense evaluation and performances, trainees Kim MinjaeJang YonghoonBaek JunhyukPark WonbinChu Yoo ChanJeong SeminPark Junhwan, and Park Seunghyeon were selected as the final lineup of the new boy group IDID.

The episode, titled Final Debut LIVE, was watched by 2,400 fans in person and thousands more online. The 12 finalists performed the show’s signature track ImPerfect, as well as two original unit songs: The Moment That Pierces Dreams and Blooming CROWN. Final rankings were determined by a 50:50 split between fan votes and board evaluations.

Kim Minjae Crowned #1, Group Name Signals Determination

Kim Minjae topped the final vote, earning the center position. “I never imagined I’d come first,” he said, “but I’ll work even harder to repay the love.” Jang Yonghoon placed second, followed by Baek JunhyeokPark Wonbin, and Chu YuchanJung Semin made it through with a Fan SAVE, while Park Junhwan was brought back via Board SAVE. The final slot went to Park Sunghyun, who had previously earned a Super Pass.

The group name IDID reflects the phrase “I did it,” emphasizing the members’ persistence and growth. According to Starship, it represents the belief that hard work will lead to success — a fitting message for the eight boys chosen from over a hundred hopefuls.

Emotional Send-Off for Trainees, Starship Artists Attend

As the results were announced, all 12 finalists gathered for one last joint stage of Let the Universe Stay As It Is, shedding tears and embracing one another. MONSTA X’s Kihyun, who appeared as a special guest judge, praised the finale performance as “the best of the night.”

Several Starship artists including MONSTA XCRAVITYWJSN, and IVE made appearances to support the agency’s new group.

IDID to Debut in 2nd Half of 2024

IDID is expected to debut later this year as Starship’s next flagship boy group, aiming to lead the next wave of 5th-generation K-pop. Teasers and pre-debut content are expected to roll out in the coming months.
