STRAY KIDS ATE IT! The comeback showcase
On the morning of the 19th, Stray Kids (Bang Chan, Lee Know, Changbin, Hyunjin, Han, Felix, Seungmin, and I.N) held a press conference to commemorate the release of their new mini album, STRAY KIDS ATE.
The leader Bangchan, said, “We are able to show our 2024 first comeback album ‘Ate’ . As Stray Kids’ unique color has been painted, we worked really hard to make this album, so I would appreciate it if you enjoy it. Hope everyone look forward to our new song activities.”
Lee Know said, “This is the most anticipated moment. In particular, this album was fun while we were preparing and confident, so we wanted to show it to you soon. We will show you a great performance so that you can literally hear ‘I’ve chewed it up’.”
“ATE” is a new album released in about eight months after the Stray Kids fourth No. 1 album in the U.S. Billboard main chart “Billboards 200,” expressing its bold ambition to “chew up the domestic and foreign music market this summer.”
The title song “Chk Chk Boom” is a relaxed but not weak track that contains the message of “Let’s just do what we want to do without thinking and calculating.” It will show how Stray Kids, who have goals, achieve their goals and how they are confident that they can achieve them.
Han talked about Stray Kids ATE, “I wanted to show the different charms of Stray Kids from before through ‘ATE’. If we showed the energy that explodes and emits before, I think the point is that we can continue to show off our charms without being bored, although it is a little more restrained and latent. Various songs in the album have been expanded in genres than before. It is an album that contains many new aspects of us,” and introduced Stray Kids ATE.
Bang Chan also said, “We prepared really hard to show you another side of Stray Kids. We also decided on the album title, ATE. It literally means, “I chewed it.” If you keep the pronunciation of ATE, it becomes the number 8, so we tried to convey our true feelings even more.”
The Renewal of Contraction
Earlier, Stray Kids drew attention as all of its members renewed their contracts on the 18th ahead of the expiration of their exclusive contract with their agency JYP Entertainment early next year. At the time, JYP Entertainment said, “Stray Kids, who are exerting unrivaled music and performance in the global music market, and JYP, which led and planned their growth, renewed their contracts with a high vision based on their strong faith.”
In a related development, Bangchan said, “I wanted to let STAY know this good news as soon as possible. Thanks to STAY and our company staffs who have always provided us with good support, I imagined that I would like to stay with them in the future. We decided to renew our contract looking forward to seeing us grow further.”
In addition, Bangchan said, “Most of all, I was grateful as the leader of the team because the members all shared one mind and one opinion. I was also touched. I think the team Stray Kids has been drawing our story well even before its debut. There are so many things we want to show you in the future. I think it’s a new beginning and we’ll show you more good things.”
Lastly, Lee Know said, “I have a tour this year. I think I will go around to meet STAYs all over the world. I feel different now. I want to continue to challenge myself in various genres that are unique to Stray Kids,” expressing his new dream.
