Stray Kids GIANT, the album promotion proving itself
The group Stray Kids proved its overwhelming local popularity with massive promotions in the country on the occasion of the release of their Japanese studio album.
Stray Kids released the title song of the same name as their second full-length Japanese album “GIANT” on Nov. 13.
Japan’s second full-length album “GIANT” attracted a lot of attention as it was released in about a year and nine months after Japan’s first full-length album “THE SOUND” in February last year. The album topped the Oricon Chart Daily Album rankings on Nov. 12.
Starting with the title song “GIANT”, the Japanese version of the title song “Chk Chk Boom” (ATE), the theme song of the TV animation “NIGHT” and “Falling Up” (Falling Up), the Japanese and English songs of the Fuji TV-affiliated Thursday theater “Re: Revenge-At the End of Desire-” (Re: リベンジ 欲望の果てに-), the OST “WHY?” (Saiyan), the new song “愛をくれたのに、なぜ” (Io Kuretanoni, Naje), and the first Christmas season song “Christmas Love”to be performed among the original Japanese songs.
The title song of the same name, “GIANT,” was composed by Bang Chan, Changbin, and Han of the producing team 3RACHA in the group, melting the group’s unique grand and powerful charm.
In particular, Stray Kids is proving its popularity by collaborating with various famous brands locally to mark the release of its second full-length album in Japan. From Nov. 1 to Dec. 1, Suntory will release canned drinks and from Nov. 8 to Dec. 1, a special exhibition will be held at HEP FIVE in Osaka.
From Nov. 8 to Dec. 27, the Japanese railway company JR Tokai will showcase voice content in the Shinkansen, and advertisements will be available at stations in each region, including Tokyo, Nagoya, and Osaka. In Tokyo Dome City, various events were held from Nov. 11 to 17, including a Ferris wheel wrapped with member visuals and an Illumination Tree decorated with Stray Kids songs.
A pop-up store will be held at SHIBUYA TSUTAYA from the 12th to the 19th, and a campaign promotion will also be held at Tokyo convenience store New Days from the 13th to the 18th.
Spotify, a music streaming platform, will hold a pop-up store “GIANT PARK” at MIYASHITA PARK in Shibuya from the 13th to the 19th. As such, local fans realize the team’s hot popularity as they encounter the release of Stray Kids’ new album in various fields such as drinks, landmarks, transportation, concert halls, bookstores, convenience stores, and music sites.
Stray Kids has dominated major music and music charts, including Oricon, Tower Records, and Billboard Japan, with several works released in September 2023 including their first EP album “Social Path (feat. LiSA) / Super Bowl-Japanese ver.-” (feat. LiSA / Super Bowl Japanese version) since their official debut in Japan in March 2020. It is gaining overwhelming popularity by successfully leading the “Stray Kids Dome Tour 5-STAR 2023,” which became the first K-pop 4th generation boy group to enter Japan’s 4th dome concert hall.
Stray Kids, which opened its new world tour “dominATE” at KSPO DOME in Seoul in August this year, recently attracted cloud spectators by holding solo concerts at Marvel Stadium in Melbourne, Sydney Allianz Stadium, and Kaohsiung National Stadium in Australia.
In October 2023, they held a solo performance as part of the “Stray Kids Dome Tour 5-STAR 2023” at Tokyo Dome in Japan, proving their immense popularity. They visited Tokyo Dome on Nov. 14 and 16-17, about a year later, and met with the cloud crowd again.
The world tour will then be held in Manila, Philippines on the 23rd, Macau on the 29th to 30th, Osaka, Japan on December 5th and 7th to 8th, Bangkok, Thailand on the 14th, Jakarta, Indonesia on the 21st, and Hong Kong on January 18th to 19th, 2025.
