Stray Kids KARMA Sells 2 Million in a Day, “CEREMONY” Sets New Streaming Records
Double Million-Seller on Day One
Stray Kids made their first comeback of 2025 on August 22 with their 4th full-length album KARMA. According to Hanteo Chart, the album sold over 2 million copies within 24 hours, making it a double million-seller on its first day. It also topped Hanteo’s Weekly Physical Album Chart (Aug. 18–24) and Circle Chart’s Weekly Retail Album Chart (Aug. 17–23).
Global Chart Domination
Internationally, KARMA reached No. 1 on the Worldwide and European iTunes Album Charts for three consecutive days (Aug. 22–24) and also ranked first in regions including Japan, France, and Australia. Title track CEREMONY hit No. 1 on Bugs’ real-time chart in Korea and topped iTunes Song Charts in Brazil and Thailand.
On Spotify, where Stray Kids became the first 4th-gen K-pop group to surpass 20 million followers, the album recorded 18.26 million streams on release day—the highest first-day streams for a K-pop group in 2025. This broke their own record set with ★★★★★ (5-STAR) in 2023. CEREMONY alone logged 2.52 million streams, debuting at No. 27 on the Global Daily Top Songs Chart and No. 49 in the U.S., marking their highest U.S. entry to date.
Music Video and Performances
The CEREMONY music video debuted at No. 1 on YouTube Worldwide Trending on August 22 and has remained there for four days, surpassing 20 million views by August 25.
Stray Kids launched live promotions with stages on KBS Music Bank (Aug. 22), MBC Show! Music Core (Aug. 23), and SBS Inkigayo (Aug. 24). Their sports-themed stage, outfits, and member-designed choreography captured fans’ attention while delivering a message of celebrating achievements through hard work.
Beyond Korea: New Releases Ahead
Marking their first studio album in two years, Stray Kids reaffirmed their standing as global leaders in the K-pop scene. Building on this momentum, they dropped CEREMONY – Maximum Power Remixes on August 25 at 1 p.m. KST.
