Suga and V impersonator
Big Hit Music shared its progress in relation to the impersonation of the BTS members.
Big Hit Music posted a notice on its fan community, Weverse on 29th Friday, entitled “Guidance on the Legal Response Situation related to Artist Rights Violation.” It mentioned major legal response cases.
The first case was about ‘Suga and V impersonator’. In 2022, ‘A’ impersonated Suga and V and received an unreleased guide track from the insiders. He also reportedly collected military service information.
The agency said, “The defendant has expressed his apology before the ruling, but the agency clarified that we do not have intention of reaching an agreement. As a result, additional imprisonment was sentenced to the Suga and V impersonator.”
The agency then warned, “We will continue to take strong legal measures against criminal acts such as impersonation of members, collecting undisclosed information, and leaking activities.”
Complaint procedures are also being carried out for malicious posts. “Monitoring and collecting malicious posts on BTS and individual members is carried out in real time,” he stressed.
There will be no leniency at all. “We will sternly respond to maliciously fabricated defamatory postings related to military life with the principle of zero tolerance,” he said.
Finally, Big Hit Music said, “The legal response will continue without a gap even during the members’ military service obligations,” adding, “We will continue to make efforts to protect the rights and interests of artists.”
Meanwhile, criminal 27 at the Seoul Central District Court sentenced ‘A’ to one year in prison in January. A was indicted on charges of violating the Act on Promotion of Information and Communication Network Utilization and Information Protection.
