K-pop group TEMPEST has concluded their highly anticipated solo concert series in Japan, marking a significant milestone in their global expansion. The ‘2024 TEMPEST CONCERT [T-OUR: TEMPEST Voyage] in JAPAN’ took place on December 14 and 15 in Osaka and Tokyo, thrilling fans with a diverse setlist and dynamic performances.

Captivating Performances and Fan Engagement

TEMPEST opened the concert with their Japanese pre-debut track ‘Baddest Behavior’, followed by ‘Dragon (飛上)’ from their third mini-album ON and ON and ‘Young & Wild’ from their second mini-album SHINING UP. The group greeted fans with excitement, saying, “It’s been 1 year and 4 months since our last solo concert in Japan. Let’s have an amazing time today, as both iE (official fandom name) and we have been waiting for this moment.”

The concert featured a mix of TEMPEST’s Japanese releases, including ‘BANG!’ from their first Japanese mini-album BANG! and ‘Bubble Gum’ from their second Japanese mini-album Bubble Gum. They also delighted fans with cover performances of iconic songs by Japanese idol groups SMAP and ARASHI, as well as a festive rendition of Backstreet Boys’ classic holiday song ‘Last Christmas.’

Showcasing Growth and Creativity

TEMPEST highlighted their recent participation in Mnet’s survival show ‘Road to Kingdom: ACE OF ACE,’ performing standout tracks like:

  • ‘Eye of the Storm’ and ‘Can’t Stop Shining’ from their fourth mini-album The Calm Before the Storm
  • Japanese versions of Stray Kids’ ‘MANIAC’ and ‘LIGHTHOUSE’ from their fifth mini-album Voyage

Additionally, member LEW showcased his creativity by choreographing the performance for ‘Slow Motion,’ which premiered during the concert. This display of artistry further solidified TEMPEST’s reputation for delivering unique and innovative stages.

Chart Success and Future Plans

TEMPEST’s second Japanese mini-album ‘Bubble Gum,’ released on December 11, achieved an impressive 7th place on the Oricon Daily Album Chart. This follows the success of their first Japanese mini-album BANG! released in April 2024, which marked a strong debut in the Japanese market. Their consistent growth highlights TEMPEST’s rising global presence.

With plans to continue meeting fans worldwide, TEMPEST is set to expand their activities across Korea, Japan, and beyond, solidifying their position as one of K-pop’s most promising groups.
