TWICE Makes History, First Foreign Artist to Headline Japan’s National Stadium in April [2026]
The group TWICE has written a new chapter in concert history, becoming the first foreign artist ever to headline a solo concert at the Tokyo National Stadium in Japan next April.
TWICE announced the addition of three Tokyo National Stadium dates for their 6th World Tour, ‘THIS IS FOR,’ via their official Japanese social media channels on the afternoon of the 7th.
The group will hold three full 360-degree open solo concerts at the Tokyo National Stadium—the nation’s ultimate symbolic venue—on April 25th, 26th, and 28th, 2026. This marks the first time a foreign artist has held a solo performance at this highly prestigious location.
Record-Breaking Scale
The concerts, part of the THIS IS FOR World Tour with 360-degree seating opened, are projected to be the largest in the group’s history, accommodating approximately 80,000 spectators per show and attracting a cumulative audience of around 240,000 across the three dates.
This stadium run follows their successful Japan Dome Tour last September, which mobilized a total of 400,000 spectators. At the final Tokyo Dome concert, TWICE had promised to “advance to bigger stages,” hinting at the forthcoming 2026 addition.
By becoming the first overseas artist to enter the Tokyo National Stadium, they are not only expanding their tour scale but also solidifying their status as a ‘global top-tier girl group’ in a meaningful progression, drawing immense attention from fans worldwide.
Recent Global Achievements
In related news, TWICE recently achieved a major global milestone. Their song ‘Strategy’ (from their 14th mini-album, released December 6, 2024) recently earned Platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), making them the first K-pop girl group to achieve this certification level. This RIAA Platinum status—the highest rating for a K-pop girl group—follows their 17-week charting run on the Billboard main chart, the ‘Hot 100,’ further confirming their global success.
