TWS 1st Anniversary and their achievements
TWS, a rising boy group from Pledis Entertainment, celebrated their 1st anniversary on January 22, 2025. Since their debut, they have gained significant recognition in the K-pop industry, earning 13 awards, including 7 rookie awards, making them the most awarded debut artist of 2024. Their debut song, “첫 만남은 계획대로 되지 않아” (PLOT TWIST), achieved remarkable success by topping Melon’s annual chart for 2024, a feat not accomplished by a debut song since Miss A’s “Bad Girl Good Girl” in 2010 and the first for a boy group since iKON’s “Love Scenario” in 2018.
Musical Identity and Achievements
TWS is known for their unique genre, “Boyhood Pop,” which captures youthful emotions through relatable lyrics and melodies. Their music often explores themes of first love and nostalgia, resonating with a broad audience. In addition to their chart-topping success, TWS has also ranked 2nd on Circle Chart’s annual digital chart and 3rd on the streaming chart, further solidifying their impact in the industry.
The group consists of six members: Shinyu, Dohoon, Youngjae, Hanjin, Jihoon, and Kyungmin. They debuted with the extended play (EP) Sparkling Blue on January 22, 2024, featuring the lead single “Plot Twist,” which discusses the excitement of first encounters. TWS has released three albums within their debut year and has achieved three consecutive half-million seller albums, with expectations to reach million-seller status in 2025.
TWS 1st Anniversary Celebrations and Future Plans
To celebrate their first anniversary, TWS is hosting their inaugural fan meeting titled “2025 TWS 1ST Fan Meeting ’42: Club’ in Seoul,” scheduled from February 14 to 16 at the Olympic Park Handball Gymnasium. The tickets for this event sold out within ten minutes, highlighting their popularity among fans. Additionally, TWS plans to expand internationally with fan meetings in Japan on March 15-16 at Musashino Forest Sports Plaza.
Member Dohun expressed aspirations for the upcoming year, emphasizing their commitment to delivering proud performances and continuously improving their skills while aiming to be a group that others aspire to emulate.
