W Korea Faces Heavy Backlash Over “LOVE YOUR W 2025”

On October 15, fashion magazine W Korea hosted its annual “LOVE YOUR W 2025” breast cancer awareness campaign at the Four Seasons Hotel in Seoul.
The event drew major stars including BTS RM, V and J-Hope, StrayKids Seungmin and Bangchan, aespa, IVE, ILLIT, I-DLE, and actors Jung Hae In, Go Hyun Jung, Lee Young Ae, Ha Jung Woo, and Lee Min Ho, who were seen enjoying a party-style event filled with drinks, performances, and photo ops.

However, the atmosphere quickly drew criticism online. Breast cancer patients and netizens questioned how a luxury celebrity gathering could be considered an “awareness campaign.”
Many accused W Korea of holding a “glamorous party under the guise of charity,” mocking the event for raising only ₩1.1 billion (~$800,000) in total over 20 years.

One top comment read, “They’ve been doing this for two decades and only raised ₩1 billion? The production costs probably cost more than the donations.”

Knetz Reactions to “LOVE YOUR W 2025”

@peekeeeeeee:

“They call it a breast cancer awareness campaign but it’s just a drunk celebrity networking party. Patients can’t even afford treatment because new drugs aren’t covered by insurance. These stars show up smelling like alcohol — this feels like mocking the sick.”

@zenku28:

“1. Over 100 celebrities every year, 20 years total, and only ₩1 billion raised.
2. They use ‘awareness’ as a shield but none of these people ever talk about breast cancer drugs or insurance issues.
3. They literally played songs like ‘I Wanna See Your Body’ while claiming it’s for breast cancer awareness. Unbelievable.”

@sojabi:

“They brag about 11억(₩1.1 billion) in donations over 20 years — Seon from Hope Marathon raised more through a running app. What a joke.”

@sun_ae_bo:

“If they really cared, they’d visit hospitals instead of throwing another champagne party. Watching Jealousy Incarnate would raise more awareness than this mess.”

@Zelda_FF14:

“Honestly? It’s embarrassing. ₩1 billion in 20 years? You guys make more than that in a week. Maybe spend less on the dresses and more on the cause.”
