Yu Junwon’s provisional injunction application dismissed
Yu Junwon, who left the group ‘Fantasy Boys’ without permission, lost a lawsuit against the production company, Funky Studio. Attention is focusing on whether the lawsuit filed by the production company will also be affected and what Yu Junwon would do after the lawsuit.
On the 24th, Division of the Seoul Western District Court rejected Yu Junwon’s request for an injunction to suspend the validity of the exclusive contract against Funky Studio. The litigation costs became burden of Yu Junwon.

Regarding the dismissal ruling, Yu Junwon was positive.”As long as the court confirmed that we can freely engage in entertainment activities without interference from Poketdol Studio and Funky Studio in the future, we decided not to appeal.” “There is no need to continue unnecessary legal disputes.” They are saying the court judged that there is no specific exclusive contract agreement. So the family assume Poketdol Studio and Funky Studio have no basis for negotiating, signing, or raising objections to a third-party contract on Yu Junwon’s entertainment activities. “We look forward to no obstacle on Yu Jun Won’s entertainment activities in the future.”
Funky Studio’s side
However, Funky Studio has different opinion. “We agreed on a five-year exclusive contract with Yu Junwon. But the situation happened because we didn’t sign an agreement on the details of the distribution,”t he said. “It sounds like a cowardly excuse.” In fact, a five-year contract agreement was agreed and even the signing of the contract was recognized (during ‘Fantasy Boys,’ the program). However, since Yu Junwon did not sign an auxiliary agreement after the final, Funky Studio also launched Fantasy Boys. We were recognizing that Yu Junwon was arbitrarily withdrawn.”
They added, “As stated in the purpose of the decision, the five-year contract is valid because there is no reason attributable to us. Unlike Yu Junwon’s argument, and therefore a lawsuit for damages was filed. It’s not in Yu’s favor at all.”
So it seems it will be continuous and long lasting lawsuit. The two sides are sharply divided on whether or not to contract exclusively.
