Yulhee expose ex-husband’s unforgivable attitude
Drummer Choi Min-hwan of the band FT Island (Lee Hong-ki, Lee Jae-jin and Choi Min-hwan) is embroiled in allegations that he engaged in prostitution by visiting illegal sites before his divorce. Meanwhile, a red light has been turned on for FT Island’s activities a day before their concert.
According to its agency, FNC Entertainment, FT Island planned to hold an Asian tour “2024 FTISLAND LIVE PULSE in Asia” (2024 FTISLAND LIVE PULSE IN ASIA) in Kaohsiung on the 26th.
The Asian tour of FTISLAND marks its 17th anniversary and first opened in Manila on September 14. It then met with fans in Hong Kong on September 28 and was scheduled to continue its enthusiasm in Kaohsiung on October 26 and Macau on November 10.
However, ahead of the Kaohsiung concert, suspicions of Choi Min-hwan’s prostitution arose. In particular, it was known that he was using the illegal stores even before the divorce, causing a stir.
In the aftermath, it is uncertain whether the FT Island concert will be held or not. FNC Entertainment said it is “clearing its position” on Choi Min-hwan’s alleged private life.
Yulhee expose the issue through her YouTube Channel
Yulhee, a former member of the group Laboum, FTISLAND Choi Minhwan’s ex-wife, revealed the reason for the divorce through her YouTube channel “Yul-hee’s House” on the 24th. Yulhee said Choi Min-hwan’s sexual harassment and visits to a prostitution business were the decisive reasons for the divorce.
“He touched my body in front of my family and put money in my chest,” Yulhee said. “What would I know about the prostitute culture at that age? I didn’t know it, but it turned out that actions wer an alcohol habit.” She also claimed, “I was with my mom and dad, and Choi Minhwan touched my chest several time, and not just there but touched important part (meaning genital), and made jokes that was inappropriate.”
Yulhee also released a transcript of FTISLAND Choi Minhwan’s phone call with an official from a prostitution agency. It was reportedly recorded between July and August 2022. According to the transcript, Choi Minhwan said, “Do you think I’m drunk? But I really want to eat (meaning he want to have a sex). I want to play.” He asked for a hotel or motel reservation.
Meanwhile, FTISLAND Choi Minhwan and Yulhee married in 2018 and have one son and two daughters. However, they announced their divorce in December last year, five years after their marriage. The custody of their three children was taken by Choi Minhwan.
